Power Assure and ABB Presenting "Breakthroughs in Data Center Reliability and Automation" at AFCOM Data Center World
Showcasing industry-leading energy management software integrated with ABB control systems Santa Clara, Calif. - September 6, 2011 - Power Assure®, Inc., a data center infrastructure and energy management solutions provider, today announced its Cofounder and CTO, Clemens Pfeiffer, will co-present a product information session with ABB at AFCOM Data Center World, taking place September 11 - 14, 2011 at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Florida. Additionally, Power Assure will demonstrate the integration of its EM/4™ energy management software with ABB's System 800xA Extended Automation platform during the event at booth #617.
Titled, "Breakthroughs in Data Center Reliability and Automation," this session will be held on Tuesday, September 13 at 2:45 pm. Mr. Pfeiffer and Mark Reed, North American lead, Data Center Initiative for ABB, will jointly discuss next steps in data center automation. By integrating IT and Facilities into a global automation model, data centers can reduce cost of operations and improve energy efficiency and overall reliability. Attendees will learn how integrating ABB and Power Assure provides accurate energy consumption and power availability data along with advanced automation for increased data center reliability and operational cost efficiency.
"Linking IT capacity and utilization with cooling and power related details is paramount to running an efficient data center, ensuring business continuity to meet application service level guarantees." said Pfeiffer. "The technology and know-how exists today to integrate building and IT related utilization and status information so organizations can react in real time, automatically initiating power capping or load shifting to another site when there are significant power or cooling failures, energy price spikes or other business and reliability reasons."
Attendees at the Power Assure booth will learn how data center operators can better monitor, plan, manage and optimize capacity and associated facility resources with Power Assure's EM/4 energy management software to reduce power costs, extend data center life, and automate existing processes without compromising service levels.
When: September 11 - 14, 2011
Where: Orlando World Center Marriott Orlando, FL
Booth: Power Assure will be demonstrating the EM/4 software and PAR4 metrics at Booth # 617. Power Assure will also be demonstrating the combined Power Assure/ABB solution in the ABB booth, #521.
Exhibit Details:
Power Assure will showcase its Power Assure EM/4™ software which provides actionable, real-time and historical insight into power utilization and other key performance indicators (KPIs) for the data center, along with the means to analyze, optimize and automate energy efficiency while maintaining service levels. Together with ABB's control system, Power Assure's software services deliver real-time power monitoring and automation, allowing IT adjustments in response to facility-side events. The combined demonstration will show attendees how to respond to increased and decreased server demand, react to a main line power fault, manage peak power reduction and consume energy at a lower power rate.
Power Assure will also showcase, PAR4, an energy efficiency rating jointly developed with Underwriters Laboratories (UL) to accurately measure server power usage on a transaction per watt basis.
